Oxford University Newcomers' Club

The Club welcomes the wives, husbands and partners of visiting scholars, graduates and members of the University who are new to Oxford. It aims to offer help, advice and information, and the opportunity to meet others socially. Informal coffee mornings are held at 13 Norham Gardens every Wednesday 10.30 a.m.–12 noon except for two weeks at Christmas and Easter. Newcomers with children (0–4 years) meet every Friday in term 10.15 a.m.–12 noon. Other term-time activities include a Book Group, informal Conversation Group and tours to colleges, museums, and other places of interest, also country walks, garden trips and a visit to an antique centre. Full-time Bursary Administrator, St Cross College (37.5 hours p.w.). Applications are invited for the above, in the administration team of this small, friendly and egalitarian college. The post holder will be responsible for day-to-day secretarial and administrative support to the Bursar. He/she will also be responsible for many varied aspects of the day-to-day running of the college including acting as secretary to a number of committees. The role will involve daily contact with all members of the College and will be the main liaison point for student queries.
