ANCIENT HISTORY PRIZE 2007The prize is of the value of £500 and is open to:
Members of the University reading for the Degrees of M.St., M.Litt., M.Phil., or D.Phil. On the date appointed for sending in essays such candidates shall have completed not more than six terms from the date of commencement of graduate work.
Candidates are permitted to choose any subject in Greek or Roman History or Historiography in the period 1500 BC to AD 500. Parts of theses in preparation will not be excluded, but candidates will be required to certify that their entry has not been, or is not concurrently being, submitted for any other prize.
The subject proposed must be notified to the Chairman of the Sub-faculty of Ancient History and Classical Archaeology, c/o the Classics Office, Old Boys' School, George Street, Oxford OX1 2RL (Ref. HAN/1), not later than Friday, 16 February 2007. Essays, which must be typewritten or word-processed and must not exceed 25,000 words, should be sent to the Chairman of the Sub-faculty of Ancient History and Classical Archaeology, Classics Centre, 66 St. Giles, Oxford OX1 3LU, not later than Thursday, 31 May 2007.
