Scholarships and Prizes 2006: Social Sciences

GEORGE WEBB MEDLEY ENDOWMENT FUND

Grants are made from the income of the George Webb Medley Endowment Fund 'for the promotion of the study and advance of the science of political economy'. The managers of the fund, acting on behalf of the Social Sciences Divisional Board, invite applications from senior members and from graduate students. Grants are mainly made for specific research projects, where these involve a substantial element of economic analysis, and for attendance at conferences, but not towards university or college fees. There is no closing date for the receipt of applications, which should be made in advance of incurring any expenditure, but candidates are advised to apply as early as possible.

Applications should be submitted to Mrs C. Wise, Department of Economics, Manor Road Building, Oxford OX1 3UQ, from whom further details are obtainable (and an application form for completion by graduate students, who should ask one referee, normally the supervisor, to write in confidence to the Secretary)
