Medieval and Modern Languages
SENIOR PAGET TOYNBEE PRIZES 2007Two Senior Paget Toynbee Prizes, each of £1,000 in value, will be awarded, provided that there are candidates of sufficient merit, in Trinity Term 2007, for the best essays of not more than 10,000 words on approved subjects within any of the following fields:
(a) the works of Dante;
(b) Old French Language and Literature;
(c) Old Provençal Language and Literature.
Candidates must be matriculated members of the University who, on the closing date for the receipt of the essays, will be of not more than twenty-eight terms' standing. A senior prize cannot be awarded more than once to the same person.
Essays must be submitted to the Administrator's Assistant (Miss Samantha Valentine), Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages, 41 Wellington Square, Oxford OX1 2JF by Friday 30 March 2007 and must be accompanied by a letter from the candidate's tutor giving approval of the essay title. Intending candidates are advised to discuss their proposed essay with their tutor in advance of submission. Please note that essays may be written in English or Italian.
