Oxford University Museum of Natural History

William Buckland 150th anniversary symposium

The Oxford University Museum of Natural History, the History of Geology Group (HOGG), and the Palaeontological Association will meet on Saturday, 12 August, for a day of talks on William Buckland (1784–1856), to mark the 150th anniversary of his death.

The Museum will also be exhibiting some of Buckland's specimens and archives.

To attend the symposium, complete a registration form, which can be downloaded from the HOGG Web site, www.geolsoc.org.uk/hogg. Completed forms should be sent to Professor James Kennedy, Oxford University Museum of Natural History, Parks Road, Oxford OX1 3PW, with a cheque for £15 (£10 to members of HOGG and the Palaeontological Association). Cheques should be made payable to the Oxford University Museum of Natural History.

The programme will begin at 10.30 a.m., followed by a series of thirty-minute presentations.
