Legislative Proposal: Faculty of Modern History
When changes to the Schedule to the Statutes were proposed, to reflect the change of name of the Faculty of Modern History to the Faculty of History, and declared approved on 31 May 2005 (Gazette, Vol. 135, p. 1111), section 7.4. (9) of Part 7 to the Schedule to the Statutes, concerning the Montague Burton Professor of International Relations, should also have been amended accordingly to read:
'7.4. (9) a person appointed by the Board of the Faculty of History.'

Changes in Regulations
The General Purposes Committee of Council has made the following change in regulations, to come into effect on 24 March.
Careers Service Appeal Fund
In Part 2 of Council Regulations 25 of 2002, concerning trusts (Statutes, 2000, p. 606, as redesignated as regulations by Decree (5) of 11 July 2002, and renumbered by the changes published on 14 November 2002, Gazette, Vol. 132, p. 1461; Vol. 133, p. 404), insert new § 43 as follows and renumber existing §§ 43–68 as §§ 44–69:
'§ 43. Careers Service Appeal Fund
1. The residue of benefactions in favour of the Oxford University Appointments Committee's 1986 Appeal Fund, now held by the Careers Service and amounting to £371,729, together with any further donations intended to provide long-term support for the Careers Service, shall be known as the 'Careers Service Appeal Fund'.
2. The University shall apply the Fund towards the achievement of the objectives of the Careers Service.
3. The administration of the Fund, and the application of its capital and income, shall be the responsibility of the Committee for the Careers Service and may be exercised on the Committee's behalf by its Executive Committee.'
[This change, made on the recommendation of the Committee for Council Departments, establishes the Careers Service Appeal Fund to provide long-term financial support for the Careers Service.]
