Scholarships and Prizes 2005:
ILCHESTER FUND TRAVEL GRANTS
Applications are invited for grants (not normally of a value of more than £250 each) to assist with the costs of travel for the purposes of study and research in subjects connected with the Slavonic Languages or Literature, or the History of the Slavonic Nations. The need for an historical element in projects which are not primarily in the fields of Slavonic Languages or Literature is emphasised.
It should also be noted that grants will not be made towards the costs of attendance at language courses, and that the fact that an application is for study in one of the countries concerned will not in itself qualify it for support from the fund.
Those eligible to apply under the terms of this notice are members of the university academic and library staff (in respect of travel for work for which they are employed by the University) and students for Oxford postgraduate degrees and diplomas (other than graduate students under the Board of the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages).
Account may be taken of any other possible sources of financial support available to applicants.
Applications, which should be submitted on a form obtainable from the Secretary, Taylor Institution, 41 Wellington Square, Oxford OX1 2JF, should be returned to the secretary by Friday of the third week of Hilary Term.
Graduate students under the Modern Languages Board are referred to the arrangements for travel grants administered by the Graduate Studies Committee of the faculty board.
