Oxford University Gazette, 11 November 2004: Appointments

GREEN COLLEGE

Joan and Richard Doll Clinical Tutorial Fellowship

Green College invites applications for an additional Tutorial Fellow who will be responsible, with others, for the provision of additional teaching to the ninety or so Clinical Medical Students who are members of the college. Appointment will be for two years initially and may be renewable. The fellowship will be available immediately after selection. It may be held in conjunction with another appointment, which need not necessarily be a tenured clinical appointment.

The successful applicant will possess enthusiasm for college-based teaching of medical students and will have access to a range of patients in Oxford. The college provides regular bedside tutorials (with the help of over twenty teaching associates), relevant evening seminars every week, and mock assessments for its clinical students. As well as delivering teaching personally, the fellow will be expected to help organise this ambitious programme. The Tutorial Fellow will work together with other Tutorial Fellows and with the other clinical Fellows who provide pastoral and academic support for the college. It is expected that the Tutorial Fellow will commit at least four to five hours per week on average to these responsibilities, though the loading in any single week is likely to be variable.

The Tutorial Fellowship is a non-governing body fellowship, which provides access to all college facilities, dining rights, and an honorarium of £2,250 per annum.

Application forms and further notes (including contact details of the other tutorial fellows) are available from the Warden's Secretary, Green College, Oxford OX2 6HG (telephone: Oxford (2)74775, e-mail: romola.coope@green.ox.ac.uk). They should be returned with a full curriculum vitae to the Warden, Green College, no later than 17 November.
