Oxford University Newcomers' Club

The Club welcomes the wives, husbands and partners of visiting scholars, graduates and members of the University who are new to Oxford. It aims to offer help, advice and information, and the opportunity to meet others socially. Informal coffee mornings are held at 13 Norham Gardens every Wednesday 10.30 a.m.–12 noon except for two weeks at Christmas and Easter. Newcomers with children (0–4 years) meet every Friday in term 10.15 a.m.–12 noon. Other term-time activities include a Book Group, informal Conversation Group and tours to colleges, museums, and other places of interest, also country walks, garden trips and a visit to an antique centre. Boat Race

The Oxford University Society invites you to watch the 151st Oxford v. Cambridge Boat Race with us on 27 March. Charity Event

The Oxford charity DIPEx (www.dipex.org) is to benefit from an evening of conversation between renowned playwright, author, and producer Jonathan Miller and prize winning author Ian McEwan. Proceeds from the event will contribute towards producing a new DIPEx website on peoples' experiences of Myeloma. The evening will also see the launch of the latest DIPEx study in experiences of carers of people with dementia. Jonathan and Ian will take questions from the audience at the end of their conversation and Ian will be available to sign copies of his new book.
