Oxford University Newcomers' Club

The Club welcomes the wives, husbands and partners of visiting scholars, graduates and members of the University who are new to Oxford. It aims to offer help, advice and information, and the opportunity to meet others socially. Informal coffee mornings are held at 13 Norham Gardens every Wednesday 10.30 a.m.–12 noon except for two weeks at Christmas and Easter. Newcomers with children (0–4 years) meet every Friday in term 10.15 a.m.–12 noon. Other term-time activities include a Book Group, informal Conversation Group and tours to colleges, museums, and other places of interest, also country walks, garden trips and a visit to an antique centre. Boat Race

The Oxford University Society invites you to watch the 151st Oxford v. Cambridge Boat Race with us on 27 March. We have chartered a boat that will be moored at Chiswick Pier on the northern bank, affording a superb view of the crews in the finishing stages of the race. Tickets cost £45 each. Charity Event: 'V-Day'

Mon., 7 Mar. at 6.45 p.m. A production of The Vagina Monologues by the students and staff of the Universities in Oxford will take place at the Jacqueline du Pré building, St Hilda's College. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Oxford Sexual Abuse Rape Crisis Centre, the V-Day 'international pot' with a spotlight in 2005 on 'Women and girls in Iraq', and a proportion of money raised will be directed to help raise funds for groups helping female victims of the war in northern Uganda.
