Scholarships and Prizes 2003: Miscellaneous and Multidisciplinary

UNIVERSITY DYSLEXIA (SPECIAL LEARNING DIFFICULTIES) FUND

The University of Oxford has a central fund to assist students with dyslexia or other specific learning difficulties to meet part of the additional costs incurred because of their condition. The Dyslexia (SpLD) Fund can help meet the full cost of a psychologist's report and may also help towards the costs incurred for specialist dyslexia (or SpLD) support tuition. Reports must be obtained from a psychologist approved by the Proctors and a list is available from the Disability Office. Both current students, and prospective students (undergraduate or gradaute) who have a conditional offer, are eligible to apply. The cost of a report for a prospective student can only be reimbursed should they take up a place at the University.

Applications will be considered by the Dyslexia SpLD Fund panel (the panel is a sub-panel of the Advisory Panel on Disability and wherever possible includes a student representative, and a person with a disability) or by the chair of the panel in-between meetings.

Applications should be made to the Disability Office, University Offices, Wellington Square, Oxford OX1 2JD. Further details, application forms and a list of approved psychologists, are available from the Disability Office by phone on 01865 (2) 80459 and by e-mail (e-mail: disability@admin.ox.ac.uk). Details are also online at http://www.admin.ox.ac.uk/eop/ disab .
