VAUGHAN CORNISH BEQUESTThe income of the Vaughan Cornish Bequest is available for the `encouragement and assistance of postgraduate students of the University engaged in the advancement of knowledge relating to the beauty of scenery as determined by nature or the arts in town or country at home or abroad'.
The Board of Management invites applications for grants, or other assistance from the fund, from members of the University who
(ii) are engaged in any study covered by the terms of the bequest.
Six copies of applications should be submitted to the Secretary to the
Board of Management of the Vaughan Cornish Bequest, School of Geography
and the Environment, Mansfield Road, Oxford OX1 3TB, by Friday, 5 March
2004. They should give:
Applicants are advised that the funds available to the Board of Management are limited. Grants are intended to assist with expenses incurred in the course of research that is relevant to the terms of the Bequest. Applicants should therefore note that grants cannot be made to meet course fees or general maintenance costs.
In exceptional circumstances the board may be prepared to consider applications in Michaelmas Term and Trinity Term (if submitted by the fifth week of term).
