Scholarships and Prizes 2003: Medieval and Modern
SENIOR PAGET TOYNBEE PRIZES 2004Two Senior Paget Toynbee Prizes, each of £1,000 in value, will be awarded, provided that there are candidates of sufficient merit, in Trinity Term 2004, for the best essays of not more than 10,000 words on approved subjects within any of the following fields:
(a) the works of Dante;
(b) Old French Language and Literature;
(c) Old Provençal Language and Literature.
Candidates must be matriculated members of the University who, on the closing date for the receipt of the essays, will be of not more than twenty- eight terms' standing. A senior prize cannot be awarded more than once to the same person.
Essays must be submitted to the Secretary of the Taylor Institution, 41 Wellington Square, Oxford OX1 2JF by Thursday, 25 March 2004 and must be accompanied by a letter from the candidate's tutor giving approval of the essay title. Intending candidates are advised to discuss their proposed essay with their tutor in advance of submission.
