APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR OF ESTATES
The University is seeking to appoint to this senior post which will fall vacant on the retirement of the current post-holder in October 2003.
The University of Oxford is a leading higher education institution undertaking teaching and research across a wide range of subjects. The Director of Estates is responsible for all matters relating to the development and maintenance of the University's estate (with the exception of investment and collegiate property), and for the University's Telecommunications and Security Services. The University occupies a range of buildings across the city of Oxford, a number of which have great architectural merit, including several listed buildings, and the uses of which reflect the diversity of academic activities. An extensive capital programme has been developed recently as a result of the University's success in attracting funds through philanthropic donations and from competitive funding programmes. The post offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional with excellent managerial, financial, and strategic skills to lead the delivery of an ambitious capital programme, to develop the existing estate to provide the facilities required by a world-class university, and to work in an organisation with a unique architectural heritage.
