Boston, Melbourne, Oxford Conversazione 2003

Making states work: failing states and benevolent empires

The Boston, Melbourne, Oxford Conversazione 2003, on the above topic, will be held in Magdalen College, 4–6 September. Speakers will include Michael Ignatieff, Sir Adam Roberts, Dame Jessica Rawson, the Hon. Gareth Evans, and Melanie Phillips.

ST JOHN'S COLLEGE

St John's College Research Centre

A one-day workshop on `Evidence' will be held in the seminar room of the Research Centre at 45 St Giles' on Saturday, 4 October, from 10.20 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be four talks around the topic of evidence in epidemiological and forensic settings, and issues arising in observational science and in history. Speakers will be Klim McPherson, Mark Freedland, Katherine Blundell, and Malcolm Vale.
