Volunteers Wanted

Research study into the effects of dietary fibre intake: our study will investigate the role of dietary fibre in the development of insulin sensitivity and diabetes. The study will involve taking 2 dietary supplements, each for a period of 4 weeks, and completing 4 full day visits to the Radcliffe Infirmary. Volunteers will be reimbursed for their time. Oxford University Newcomers' Club

The Club welcomes the wives and partners of visiting scholars, graduate students and members of the University who are new to Oxford. It aims to offer help, advice, information and the opportunity to meet each other socially. Informal coffee mornings are held at 13, Norham Gardens every Wed., 10.30–12 noon. Other activities in the club room include the Craft Group, Book Group and informal Conversation Group. Newcomers with Children (0–4 years) meet every Fri. in term, 10.15 a.m.–12 noon. The Research Staff Society (RSS) membership consists of Post- doctoral/Junior Research Fellows and Research Assistants who work for the University of Oxford. As most Research Staff are not attached to a college and may be new to Oxford our social events provide a unique opportunity to meet researchers outside your group or department. We aim to provide an interesting and varying social setting in which to mix and to become a voice for research staff within the University. We run social events each month to suit all tastes.
