Appointment of Deputy Main Payroll Manager

The University's Finance Department is looking for a deputy payroll manager to take responsibility for the main payroll (approximately 7,500 staff) and the pensioner payroll (approximately 1,200 pensioners). Using Rebus' Opendoor Human Resource and Payroll software and supervising seven payroll clerks, the job demands a thorough knowledge of tax, NI, SMP, SSP, and working family tax credits as well as student loans and tax year end procedures. The successful applicant must be able to work accurately to strict deadlines and possess excellent communication skills. The ability to organise and prioritise your own work as well as that of others is required. Applicants must have an IPPM qualification (or be studying for it) and must have at least one year's experience of supervising staff in a busy environment.

The post will be on the academic-related administrative grade 2 scale (salary £20,267–£26,229).
