EDUCATIONAL POLICY AND STANDARDS COMMITTEE OF COUNCIL

Decree

The Educational Policy and Standards Committee of Council has made the following decree, to come into effect on 30 November.

Decree (1): Removal of references to aegrotat degrees

Explanatory note

The following decree, made by the Educational Policy and Standards Committee of Council, removes the provision for the award of aegrotat degrees. The publication of information indicating that candidates have been ill is considered to be unacceptable under the Data Protection Act. Candidates who would formerly have been designated `aegrotat' will now be `declared to have deserved Honours' in the same way as candidates whose performance was affected by other causes.

Text of Decree (1)

1 In Examination Decrees, 2001, p. 121, l. 8, delete `awarded an aegrotat or has been'.

2 Ibid., p. 1014, delete ll. 13–16 and substitute:

`his or her name accordingly at the foot of the Class List under'.

3 Ibid., p. 1015, delete ll. 19–21 and substitute:
