Microsoft Research Fellowships in the Sciences

The governing body of Clare Hall proposes to elect one stipendiary Microsoft Research Fellow in Machine Learning and Perception for a period of two years, starting from October 2002. There are no restrictions on age, sex, or previous standing, except that those who have previously held college research fellowships in Oxford or Cambridge are not eligible. The closing date for the receipt of applications is Friday, 26 October. Candidates are responsible for seeing that their curriculum vitae and references reach the college by this date. Research Fellowships in the Sciences

There are no restrictions on age, sex, or previous standing, except that those who have previously held college research fellowships in Oxford or Cambridge are not eligible. Research Fellowships in Arts and Social Sciences

The governing body of Clare Hall proposes to elect one stipendiary Research Fellow and one or more non-stipendiary Research Fellows in the Arts and Social Sciences for a period of three years starting mainly from October 2002. There are no restrictions on the age, sex, or previous standing, except that those who have previously held college research fellowships in Oxford or Cambridge are not eligible. The closing date for the receipt of applications and references is Friday, 26 October. Candidates are responsible for seeing that their curriculum vitae and references reach the college by this date. Candidates will be asked on their applications to state whether, in the event of their not being elected to the stipendiary fellowship, they would be willing to accept a non-stipendiary fellowship; before elections for such a fellowship, candidates would need to demonstrate to the committee that they will have financial support from other sources. darwin college, cambridge


Adrian Research Fellowship in Modern History

Darwin College proposes to elect a stipendiary Adrian Research Fellow from 1 October 2002. The fellowship is availlable for research within the field of modern history. The fellowship is tenable for three years with the possibility of renewal for a fourth. Candidates should be aged not more than thirty-five on 1 October 2002 and have been awarded the Ph.D. or an equivalent degree, or be able to present to the electors substantial amounts of written work, published or unpublished, but consideration will be given to persons over this age if they began their research at a significantly later age than usual and to those who have interrupted their career for family or other reasons.

The successful candidate will be subject to the statutes and ordinances of the college, including the obligation to reside in Cambridge for at least two-thirds of each university term, unless excused by the governing body. The Adrian Research Fellow will become a member of the governing body and will have fellow's dining rights as well as the entitlement to a college room or flat, subject to availability, for which a charge will be made. An annual allowance will be available for travel and research expenses.
