The lecturer will be expected to have a proven record of academic achievement in
research, publications, and teaching. The lecturer will be required to teach the breadth of the
Oxford music syllabus (up to nine hours per week), especially within the earlier historical
(c.800c.1750) and also have specific interests in the field of late-medieval and early modern music. Experience in the teaching of performance studies is also essential. The lecturer will undertake to care for the graduate music students of the college and also assist with entrance interviewing.
In addition, the lecturer will play an important role within the musical life of the college, with particular reference to the college choir. Furthermore, the lecturer will have overall responsibility for the teaching of the music software programme in the college's Sibelius Room. The annual stipend is £17,625 (currently under review).

The person appointed will have good shorthand and word-processing skills, the ability to compose letters, and an easy telephone manner. The post-holder must be discreet and recognise the need for confidentiality.
Salary, according to experience, will be in the range £15,500£18,000 per annum. Benefits include free lunch, free parking, and generous holidays.
