Decree

The Personnel Committee of Council has made the following decree, to come into effect on 13 July.

Decree (1): Electoral Board for the Professorship of Indian History and Culture

Explanatory note

The following decree, made by the Personnel Committee of Council, permits the appointment of Professor T. Raychaudhuri to serve on the Electoral Board for the Professorship of Indian History and Culture, despite being over the statutory age limit.

Text of Decree (1)

Notwithstanding the provisions of Tit. XV, Sect. ii, cl. 2 (Statutes, 2000, p. 116, as renumbered by Statute (2) approved by Congregation on 20 February 2001, Gazette, pp. 645, 672), Council may appoint Professor T. Raychaudhuri, MA, D.Phil., D.Litt., Emeritus Fellow of St Antony's College and Emeritus Professor of Indian History and Civilisation, to the Electoral Board for the Professorship of Indian History and Culture for the duration of the proceedings to fill the current vacancy in that chair.
