Applications are invited from students who have been accepted by the University to undertake a research degree in Michaelmas Term 2001 as Probationer Research Students or D.Phil. students. The scholarships are to be awarded to applicants who are Japanese nationals currently on a course or starting a course at the University, or alternatively to students from the UK or other countries currently on a course or starting a course at the University which requires some period of study in Japan. Up to two awards of up to £5,000 will be made for one year in the first instance, and may be renewed for a maximum of three years, subject to satisfactory progress. The closing date for applications is 1 May.
