Decree (2): University Lecturership in the Government of New States

Explanatory note

The University Lecturership in the Government of New States is established by decree, and the lecturer is appointed by an electoral board, the composition of which is set down in the decree and includes the Vice-Chancellor. The post will be vacant from 1 October 2001 and the Social Sciences Board has begun to make arrangements to fill the vacancy. The board sees no reason why the selection committee for this post should not be constituted in the same way as for any other university lecturership in Social Sciences, a view taken by the General Board when it reviewed such posts in 1975, and now proposes that the provision for the electoral board be rescinded. The Planning and Resource Allocation Committee of Council has approved this proposal and has made the following decree, which provides accordingly.

Text of Decree (2)

In Ch. VII, Sect. III (Statutes, 2000, p. 429), delete § 101 and renumber existing §§ 102--4 (pp. 429--30) as §§ 101--3.
