CORPUS CHRISTI COLLEGE
Non-stipendiary Junior Research Fellowship in Science, Mathematics, or
Engineering
Corpus Christi College proposes to elect a non-stipendiary Junior Research Fellow in one of
the chemical, physical, or biological sciences (excluding clinical medicine), mathematics, or
engineering for two years from 1 October 2001. Applicants should be engaged in
postdoctoral research in Oxford and have independent support.
The fellow will be entitled to free lunch and dinner during all periods when the kitchen
is open and full membership of the senior common room. There are allowances for
hospitality (£240) and small research expenses (£325), and a housing allowance
of £2,088 per annum. (These figures will increase in line with inflation for the period
20012.) Applicants should write by Friday, 11 May, to the President's Secretary,

enclosing four copies of their curriculum vitae, a list of publications, and

Garside Senior Scholarship
Corpus Christi College proposes to elect a Garside Senior Scholar in Mathematics, to start
in Michaelmas Term 2001. The successful candidate will normally be reading for a D.Phil.
in Mathematics. It is hoped to make an appointment for two years (for candidates who will
be in their second year of study when they take up the scholarship). The value of the
scholarship will be £1,650 per annum, together with limited dining rights with Senior
Members: essentially one free lunch per week in term and vacation, and one free dinner per
week in term. The scholar may be asked to do some undergraduate teaching for the college.
Candidates should send their application to the College Secretary, Corpus Christi College,
Oxford OX1 4JF, enclosing a curriculum vitae and examples of work to
date, and should arrange for two named referees to write directly to the College Secretary.
Applications and references should arrive at the college no later than Monday, 21 May. It
is expected that interviews will take place in seventh week of Trinity Term.
Appointment of Librarian in Charge
Corpus Christi College wishes to appoint a Librarian in Charge from 1 September 2001. The
appointee will be responsible (under the supervision of the Fellow Librarian) for the
day-to-day running of the reading rooms (which house the modern collection) and for the
management of the college's collection of early printed books. The person appointed will be
a graduate with a professional qualification in librarianship and a minimum of two to three
years in a professional post. Familiarity with automated library systems is essential. The
appointee will be entitled to membership of the senior common room and to free lunches and
dinners. The starting salary will be in the range £16,775£25,213
depending on age, qualifications, and experience.
