| Students from the
University scooped half the six winning entries in this year's
Times Law Awards announced this month. The annual essay
competition, which is organised in conjunction with One Essex Court, the
Chambers of Lord Grabiner, QC, attracted more than 200 entries.
Alice Marshment, a student at Worcester College, took the first prize of £3,000 with her essay: `Crimes against humanity: who has the right to intervene?'. Daniel Hubbard, a postgraduate at St John's College, took the third prize of £1,000 while his brother Joshua, a student at Nottingham University, was one of three runners-up. Esther Wood, of University College, was also named among the runners-up. The Lord Chancellor presented the winners with their prizes at the Great Hall, Lincoln's Inn. |
