MBA students strike gold and bronze |
Two graduating
students from the Said Business School have proved that they are
not only keen competitors in the field of big business when they
also struck gold and bronze at the Commonwealth Games in Kuala
Lumpur.
Ms Roopa Unnikrishnan (pictured left)the 100th Rhodes Scholar from Indiacompleted an M.Phil. in Economic History at Balliol College before starting the one-year MBA programme. She won a gold medal competing for India in the Women's Sports Rifle Prone competition, and also achieved a new Commonwealth Record score of 590 out of 600. Ms Unnikrishnan finished her final examinations in Oxford just three days before jetting off to Malaysia, and firing her first shots shortly after landing. Mr Matthew Anand (pictured right), a student at Lady Margaret Hall, took the bronze competing for Canada in the 200 km team cycling event. Mr Anand, who competed in the Games two days after his finals, also took part in the individual 42 km cycling Time Trial, finishing eighth. |
