Situations Vacant

St Antony's College invites applications for the full-time post of Computer Officer. Applicants should have experience in a wide range of IT-related tasks and PC networking with Novell NetWare. The officer will: install, maintain, and upgrade software on all college-owned machines; carry out routine maintenance of college-owned hardware; supervise the server machine and the Student Computer Room (assisted by technical assistants); oversee the operation and development of the college's ethernet network; provide support and some training for college staff and fellows, and the technical assistants; oversee the development and update of the college's Web page together with the Development Officer; serve on the college's information resources/library committee; undertake specific college IT projects. The post-holder will liaise with the University's Computing Services. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential as is a thorough knowledge and experience of Windows 95, PCs and networks, the Internet, MS Office, e-mail, and other commonly used software packages. Familiarity with Windows NT and NetWare 4x is also required. Free meals while on duty and car parking available. Position available immediately. Salary in excess of £17,000.
