Talbot Studentship

Applications are invited from women graduates (indluding women graduating in 1996) for the Talbot Studentship tenable at an Oxford college. By the terms of the trust governing the studentship, only women are eligible. The successful candidate will undertake postgraduate research in the Department of Educational Studies, beginning in October 1997, leading to the degree of M.Litt. or D.Phil.

The department's research interests over the next few years will be focused on the following areas: teacher education and development; literacy and home–school relations; comparative education; science education; mathematics education; education, employment, and training; education policy and management; environmental education. There is a strong philosophical interest within the department, which permeates many of the research areas.

Further details and application forms, to be returned by Friday, 29 November, are available from the Secretary for Research Degrees, Department of Educational Studies, 15 Norham Gardens, Oxford OX2 6PY.
