We meet once per month to discuss various aspects of bilingualism, including practical details (nurseries, schools, reading and writing, strategies of language separation, motivation problems) as well as insights from academic research in relevant fields (psychology, linguistics). The next 2 meetings: 11 Dec., 15 Jan., will feature contributions from psychologists. Contact: Michael Gross, Oxford Centre for Molecular Sciences, New Chemistry Laboratory, Oxford OX1 3QT. Appeal: typewriters and books for Zimbabwe

Contact: Professor Ngwabi Bhebe, St Antony's College, 68 Woodstock Road. Tel. Oxford: 513150 (after 8 p.m., until 31 Nov.); 556285 (after 31 Nov.).
