Oxford to join them in their crusade to increase the public

Magdalen wins University Challenge

Magdalen College triumphed in the 1997 final of University
Challenge, presented by Jeremy Paxman, on BBC2 on Wednesday,
after a nail-biting finish in which Magdalen scored 250 and Open
University 195.

Oxford scientists will be the first to use advanced new `Proteograph'
technology, which will produce and analyse graphic displays of
protein changes, to study common diseases such as arthritis and
immune
disorders.

Dr Mari Sako, Reader in Industrial Relations at the London School of
Economics and Political Science since 1994, has been appointed as the
first
Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company Professor of
Management Studies (International Business), with effect
from 1 October 1997.
