PGCE students starting in 2011

The Oxford Opportunity Bursary was established in 2006 to assist students from lower income households with the cost of study at Oxford.

There is no application for the Oxford Opportunity Bursary but you should ensure you check the eligibility information provided. When applying for UK government funding you and your sponsors/parents must agree to share the data relating to your household income assessment with the University. Letters to eligible students were sent out from September 2011.

Students training to teach English, Geography, History and RE in 2011/12 are eligible for the same level of Oxford Opportunity Bursary as undergraduates, but will not be eligible for the start up. Students training to teach other subjects in 2011/12 with household incomes below £27,600 will be eligible for a bursary up to a maximum of £1,614.
