IBM strives to lead in the creation, development and manufacture of the industry's most advanced information technologies.

The IBM Bursary is designed to help students who study Computer Science gain valuable experience and understanding of the computer industry. IBM offered students extra funding, invaluable insight into the industry as well as the opportunity to undertake vacation work if the student wished.

The IBM bursary is one of the Enhanced Bursaries offered by the University of Oxford in conjunction with external sponsors. The bursaries offer additional financial assistance along with contact with major organisations to Oxford Opportunity Bursary holders.

PLEASE NOTE IBM BURSARIES ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE TO NEW APPLICANTS BUT WILL CONTINUE FOR EXISTING HOLDERS.

Eligibility

Applications were open to students who were in their first year of study and in receipt of an Oxford Opportunity Bursary. The scheme closed to new entrants after 2008 entry.

Award

£1,000 award per annum for the usual length of the course made on the grounds of academic ability and interest in IT industry.

Two awards were made annually.
