Amos Griffiths

The Amos Griffiths Bursary scheme has been created through a generous donation from the Freemasons’ Provincial Grand Lodge of Oxfordshire in memory of Dr Amos Griffiths who served as their Assistant Provincial Grand Master.

The Provincial Grand Lodge is part of the United Grand Lodge of England and in accordance with its charitable aims has established this new fund to assist undergraduates in need of financial assistance. Dr Amos Griffiths was also a well respected Oxford Consultant Physician and Clinical Lecturer at the University of Oxford.

The Amos Griffiths Bursaries will provide third year undergraduate students in receipt of an Oxford Opportunity Bursary with the opportunity to apply for additional funding for their third year of study only.

Eligibility Criteria

Applications are open to those students who:

  • are in their third year of  study

(Those students on placement will be eligible to apply if they had been in receipt of an Oxford Opportunity Bursary in the preceding year)
  • have demonstrated academic excellence in their second year of study and who are making outstanding academic progress.

Applicants who do not fulfil these criteria will not be considered for an award.
