Fees and Funding
Students with disabilities
Students from the UK, Channel Islands or the Isle of Man with a disability are eligible for the government-funded Disabled Students' Allowances (DSAs).
The amount available depends on your specific needs, not your household income. The figures in the table are the maximum amounts available for undergraduates:
| Type of student | Specialist equipment | Non-medical helper | General |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full-time | up to £5,161 for whole course | up to £20,520 a year | up to £1,724 a year |
| Part-time | up to £5,161 for whole course | up to £15,390 a year | up to £1,293 a year |
The University's Disability Advisory Service has more details about DSAs and how to apply for this funding. You can also access information about DSAs from Student Finance England.
Home students can also apply to the Access to Learning Fund for disability related costs not covered by DSAs. More information is available at Hardship funding.
