BP STEM Scholarships
The BP STEM Scholarships are available for undergraduate students who started at Oxford in 2013 and are studying a defined list of STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) as a single honours course. The programme, launched in 2012, focuses on supporting the education and development of the next generation of engineers and scientists by building the skills and knowledge needed to work in the energy industry. Students in receipt of a BP STEM Scholarship will receive £5,000 per annum for the normal duration of their course.
Applications for the 2013/14 cycle will open in October 2013.

To be selected as a BP STEM Scholar, applicants must complete an online application form, short online numerical and verbal tests, and a face-to-face interview with BP.
Other Information
Eligible STEM subjects: Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Engineering Science, Materials Science, Mathematics and Physics. Please note that students studying a joint honours course cannot apply for the BP STEM Scholarship.
Students will be expected to remain in good academic standing in order to continue to receive the award each year.
As a BP STEM Scholar, you will have the opportunity to take part in a range of activities, including a 2 to 3 day interactive event designed to help students understand more about the oil and gas industry, and opportunities to shadow a BP intern for up to 3 days during the summer. You will also have early access to apply for the BP Internship Programme and Graduate Programme.
Please note, if you are successful in being selected as a BP STEM Scholar, this will not affect your entitlement to any Oxford bursaries or fee reductions you may be in receipt of. However, if students are in receipt of any other external funding, it is their own responsibility to verify with their sponsor if there are any restrictions on their eligibility.
