The Saïd Foundation Oxford Scholarships are the continuation of the longstanding partnership between the University of Oxford and the Saïd Foundation. This has supported students from the Middle East to study at Oxford since 1984. The scholarships were previously known as Karim Rida Saïd Fund Scholarships.

Am I eligible?

Candidates should be applying to start a new degree bearing graduate course at the University of Oxford. This includes both Master's and DPhil courses in all subjects, but not PGCert and PGDip courses.

The Scholarships are open to Jordanians, Lebanese, Palestinians and Syrians resident in the Saïd Foundation's target countries (please refer to the Foundation's website for more information). Applicants must be able to demonstrate their commitment to the future development of the region, and should be intending to return to their country of ordinary residence after their studies.

What does it cover?

100% of university and college fees, a grant for living expenses (the rate for 2011-12 is £12,300), and flight (home-UK or UK-home) at the start and end of your course.

Awards are made for the full duration of a student's fee liability for the agreed course. If your scholarship is offered for a course lasting more than one year, the continuation of your scholarship each year is subject to an annual renewal process based on satisfactory academic progress

How do I apply?

Apply at the same time as you apply to Oxford by selecting Saïd Foundation Oxford Scholarships in the Funding Section of the University's Graduate Application Form.

In order to be considered for this scholarship, you must submit your application for graduate study by the January deadline (6 January 2012 for Medical Sciences and Philosophy; 20 January 2012 for all other subjects) and you must have secured a place on your chosen programme of study by the expected final decision date (17 March 2012). Applications with an outstanding admissions decision after this date, or applications which are re-evaluated against the later March deadline field, are not eligible for scholarship consideration.

How will I know if I have been successful?

This webpage will be updated to show when all interviewees have been contacted. If you have not heard from us by the time this notice is posted, then your application to this scheme has been unsuccessful. Due to the volume of applications we receive, we are unable to contact unsuccessful applicants individually or provide feedback on applications.
