Students with disabilities
Students from the UK Channel Islands or the Isle of Man with a disability are eligible for the government-funded Disabled Students' Allowances (DSAs).
The amount available depends on your specific needs, not your household income. Postgraduates are paid a single allowance, including travel costs, of up to £10,260 a year.
If you have a disability and receive funding for your studies, you are advised to contact the funding provider as soon as possible to find out whether they are able to make any support available to you. The UK Research Councils offer support to graduate students in receipt of full funding. The University's Disability Advisory Service has more details about DSAs and how to apply for this funding. As of October 2009, holders of a Clarendon Fund Scholarship are also eligible for support if they have a disability. Please contact clarendon@admin.ox.ac.uk for more information.
Home students can also apply to the Access to Learning Fund for disability related costs not covered by DSAs. More information is available at Hardship funding.
