A brand new exhibition launching at St Stephen's House on Sunday 9th September, Wartime at an Oxfordshire Monastery tells the story of the community of monks once based here during the First World War.
Focusing on specific individuals associated with the monastery during wartime (for example, a priest, an organist, a woodcarver), the exhibition explains how the community contributed to the First World War, both at home and abroad
The exhibition will open on Sunday 9th September between 1-5pm, to coincide with Oxford Open Doors. Access is via the College Church (SJE Arts) on the Iffley Road; 109a Iffley Road, Oxford, OX4 1EH
This project was made possible through National Lottery Funding (Heritage Lottery Fund).
