In 1765 General John Guise, a soldier and art collector, died. His wife and son had pre-deceased him and so he decided to leave his art collection to his former Oxford college, Christ Church. This extraordinary bequest is now celebrating its 250th anniversary. While the whole Picture Gallery is testimony to his benefaction, this exhibition wants to draw renewed attention to his collection of drawings. They include some of the most important Old Master drawings in this country, with sheets by Leonardo, Michelangelo, Bellini, Titian and many more.

Opening hours: Mon, Wed - Sat: 10.30am - 1pm & 2 - 4.30pm, Sun: 2 - 4.30pm (Closed Tuesdays)
