Simplicity: We know it when we see it — but what is it, exactly?

Prof George Whitesides (Harvard, USA) is the author of more than 1200 scientific articles and ranked 5th on Thomson ISI's list of the 1000 most cited chemists. His research interests range widely across physical and organic chemistry and materials science, encompassing surface science, self-assembly, soft lithography, microfluidics, nanotechnology, energy production and conservation, the origin of life, both complexity and simplicity, and science for developing economics. Whitesides has co-founded a dozen companies with a combined market capitalization of over $20 billion.

Followed by a free drinks reception for all attendees.
