When you put a selfie on Instagram, or like a picture on Facebook, you are making choices about images. But you are also making choices about the world; about what is acceptable and not acceptable to see, what is uplifting and what is outrageous. As communication culture continues its rapid shift from verbal to visual, what does this mean for the people consuming and interacting with those images? In this lecture, Getty Images CEO Dawn Airey will explore how people use images to construct desired narratives and talk about the advances in technology that could shape those narratives in the years ahead.
The lecture will be followed by a drinks reception to which all are warmly invited.
