The first ever classical guitarist to be admitted to the prestigious BBC New Generation Artists Scheme, 24 year old Sean Shibe has already appeared as soloist with major orchestras, given his debut recital at Wigmore Hall, performed in festivals at home and abroad, and collaborated with such artists as harpsichordist Mahan Esfahani and cellist Isang Enders. His programme tonight starts with 16th century lutenist John Dowland’s chromatic fantasia Forlorn Hope Fancy and ends with Benjamin Britten’s tribute piece, Nocturnal after John Dowland, composed for and premiered by Julian Bream.
