The Bate Consort (on viols). English and Italian consort pieces from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, including works by William Byrd, John Dowland and Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina.

In collaboration with the Bate Collection of Musical Instruments, 18th century music will be performed on early original instruments to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Guise Bequest. A harpsichord from the Bate Collection has been installed in the Picture Gallery for these recitals, which take place from 3–17 June, on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 1pm.
