This talk is organised by St Edmund Hall's interdisciplinary Centre for the Creative Brain. We all like to laugh, and stand-up comedy is becoming increasingly popular across the country, with comedians taking part in increasingly extended tours. But why and how do we laugh? Does it serve a evolutionary point? We are delighted to announce that Professor Sophie Scott (UCL) will be joining us for a great evening of laughter and science to mark the end of the Centre's first successful year. Prof. Scott is one of the world's experts on the neuroscience of laughter and this promises to be an entertaining and informative evening, aimed at a non-specialist audience.
