He has been a regular performer on BBC Radio 3 since first appearing on ‘In Tune’ and, in 2015, was one of the first BBC Introducing Classical Artists to be selected.
Born in Baku, Azerbaijan in 1993, Jamal studied at the Yehudi Menuhin School and is currently completing his Masters at the Royal College of Music.

Jâms Coleman enjoys a varied career as soloist, chamber musician and vocal accompanist.
Recent chamber music highlights include a performance of music by Colin Matthews for the BBC Proms live on Radio 3, a violin and piano performance with Luke Hsu at IMS Prussia Cove and appearing on Radio 3’s In Tune and on BBC2’s Proms Extra with his partner today, cellist Jamal Aliyev.
Originally from Anglesey, North Wales, Jâms read Music at Cambridge, completing his Masters at the Royal Academy of Music in 2016 and staying on as a Fellow.
