In this lecture, Rosemary will discuss some highlights of her long career as a travelling botanical illustrator, a career that has taken her from the far north of Lapland to the jungles of Malaysia. She will also speak about the role of the contemporary botanical illustrator, and her recent experience using the eighteenth century materials and techniques of Ferdinand Bauer in order to create her own painting of fritillaries for the ‘Painting by Numbers’ display.
