Education and mentoring: the mainstay of personal and national development
A talk by Her Excellency, Mrs Matilda Amissah-Arthur, wife of the Vice-President of Ghana, who has been at the forefront of promoting education for children in Ghana. She has worked in the Ghana Library Authority, the Balme Library of the University of Ghana and the British Council Library. She was involved in several projects from procuring books for public schools, to managing a computerised library. Her passion is helping children acquire reading skills and her NGO ‘Reading for Life’ runs reading clinics and sets up libraries throughout the country.
