Gwen Burnyeat has worked in Colombia for seven years, and was involved in the peace referendum campaign. She will talk about the peace process between the Colombian government and FARC, and how her research plans to address the role of civil society in transitional geopolitical conjunctures.

'The Oxford Seminar for the Study of Violence' examine the various forms, uses, and dynamics of violence in both the domestic sphere, and situations of armed conflict. The series will be multi-disciplinary and is launching initially with a fortnightly schedule; planned to alternate between academic and post-graduate papers.
