We welcome back BG Records to co-curate a night of live urban music, taking the instrument collection and the dormant sounds hidden within as inspiration. They will be joined by the brilliant Young Woman's Music Project as they unlock the lyrical potential of the global collections. BG Records describe themselves as an 'independent community-based record label that aims to deliver high quality events and productions for young people. We use music as a tool to engage with vulnerable groups and unlock the power that music has in changing lives'. In the run up to this event, we are running two interactive public workshops. You will be able to handle, play, explore and record instruments from the Museum's handling collection. Recorded samples will then be used in the live performances by BG & YWMP at 'AfterHours: RAP'.
