Recruiting graduates

Oxford's rigorously academic degree courses give graduates a range of transferable skills. The Careers Service exists to enable current and recent Oxford University students to make and implement well-informed decisions about their careers.

For employers the Careers Service provides:

  • opportunities to advertise vacancies to Oxford University students free of charge.
  • access to a Careers Adviser with particular knowledge of your sector for advice on recruiting at Oxford.
  • opportunities to participate in events run by the Careers Service and to attend recruitment fairs.
  • opportunities to attend training events for recruiters, run by Careers Service staff.

Sir John Eccles, the neourophysiologist and expert on synaptic transmission, studied medicine at Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. He remained to begin his research career at Exeter College and was then a tutor at Magdalen, before returning to his native Australia and a series of prominent posts. The philosophy of the mind was always a great interest for him. He died this day in 1997. Credit: ODNB
